With over 70 years of insight and profound knowledge about surface-activity technologies and the manufacturing know-how of Polyglycerol fatty acid esters (PGFEs), Taiyo is vigorously pushing the boundaries of its PGFEs to cosmetic and personal care fields.
Beyond emulsifiers – unique and exclusive structural properties
Polyglycerol fatty acids serve as nonionic surfactants, consisting of polyglycerol and fatty acids. The polyglycerol segment is attracted to water (hydrophilic), while the fatty acid segment is attracted to fats (lipophilic). This combination enables PGFEs to function as emulsifiers, aiding in the stabilization of emulsions.

Application
The Sunsoft® range offers a wide application field covering emulsification, solubilization, detergency and foaming. Taiyo guarantees a well-absorbing sensory experience with less greasy residue, only leaving the skin feel soft and hydrated.

Make-up removers
Sunsoft® technology has introduced a fresh era of skin cleansing that’s both efficient and mild. Its primary benefit lies in its capacity to thoroughly eliminate make-up residue without imparting an oily feel. Moreover, it can be applied even on damp skin. Micellar waters formulated with Sunsoft® provide superior cleansing efficacy, especially for water-resistant makeup. They also decrease interfacial tension and leave the skin feeling refreshed and well-nourished.
Solubilizers – The “Less is more” concept
Taiyo presents a formulation concept known as “Less is more,” which aims to provide maximum functionality with minimal ingredients. This strategy involves using a blend of Sunsoft® solubilizers through a cold process to reduce the amount of solubilizers needed while enhancing stability and sensory experience.
Suncare and foundation formulations
Certain products from the Sunsoft® range have a unique structure, that allows them to create stable emulsions or efficiently disperse powders. Particularly in suncare formulations, Sunsoft® products excel at dispersing mineral filters, ensuring the skin remains free of visible residue for an invisible appearance.
Natural conditioning agents
The Sunsoft® AP series, extracted from apricot kernel oil, acts as a natural conditioning agent suitable for both hair care and skin care purposes. It can be integrated into various formulations including shampoos, conditioners, and hair masks. This series provides advantages such as safeguarding against damage, facilitating smooth detangling, and hastening drying time. In skincare applications, these components contribute to creating light-textured emulsions that are swiftly absorbed, leaving a smooth finish, and demonstrating high efficacy even at lower dosages.
Taiyo´s new distributors of the cosmetic product range
We are happy to announce the partnership with Grolman Group and DKSH which will from now on handle the business with the Sunsoft® cosmetic products.
Through its local offices, the Grolman Group, will handle customers in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Cyprus, Poland, France, Italy, Turkey and Greece
DKSH will take over customers from Spain and Portugal.
