XiaPure Chia Oil is a premium chia oil made from Chilean XiaPure Chia Seeds. Chia oil is the richest source of vegetarian omega-3 fatty acids found in nature and it contains more than 60% of the omega-3 fatty acid alpha linolenic acid (ALA), a polyunsaturated fatty acid that consumers are seeking as a part of a healthy diet. XiaPure Chia Oil is produced and even the chia seeds are grown, harvested and processed all in hand of the same company by Benexia® in Santiago, Chile.

Often healthy oils are rather sensitive to oxidation. To address this issue, Taiyo and Benexia® have successfully developed the XIA PURE Ox Blocker technology, enabling to guarantee a longer shelf life of the product, a stable delivery of its nutraceutical properties and a consistent fresh taste and smell. This technology uses a cold pressing of the seed with no chemical solvents or diluents that maintain the natural tocopherols within the oil, bringing an excellent oxidative stability to the product, up to two years at ambient temperature, while preserving its high ORAC level of antioxidants (962 μmol/TE/100g), present in the specially selected chia seeds.

CHIA: A SMALL SEED WITH A LOT OF CLOUT
Valuable nutrients and health benefits make chia oil an ideal dietary supplement. Chia seeds have been used already by the Mayans and Aztecs as a staple food. Even in pre-Hispanic times, the seeds of the sage plant Salvia hispanica were used as a so-called superfood, for example as an energy-rich food for travelers. The seeds contain above average amounts of antioxidants, proteins, fiber, vitamins and minerals; but, that’s not all. Chia seeds also boast 10-times more omega-3 than salmon, 4-times more antioxidants than oranges, 4-times more iron than spinach, 5-times more calcium than whole milk, 15-times more magnesium than broccoli and 4-times more fiber than linseeds. Furthermore, chia seeds contain potassium, boron, zinc, folic acid and vital amino acids, and comprise about 40% oil, which contains more than 60% vegetarian omega-3 mainly alpha-linolenic acid. Chia is a plant that grows mostly in Mexico, Bolivia and Paraguay, the seeds need a warm and moist climate to grow in a perfect environment. The quality of the seeds depends on the species and on optimal climate. The best quality seeds grow in Bolivia and Benexia® selects only the best farms to grow, harvest and process the best seeds for oil production. Only the best seeds give the best chia oil. It all starts with the seeds. Important is also to purify the seeds and separate the seeds from the seeds of other plants, stems, stones and foreign pieces. Commercially available chia seeds are often insufficiently purified and can contain up to 5% of foreign materials which reduces also the quality of the oil if such low-quality seeds are processed to oil. Benexia® selects only the best seeds with the highest content of oil and purifies them up to 99.6-99,8% before they are sold or used for oil processing. Benexia® cultivates its own seeds in Bolivia under the best climatic conditions. These seeds are then shipped to the factories of Benexia® in Chile to process the seeds to produce chia seeds, chia oil and other chia by-products.
